About me

Graeme

Again, welcome to the latest incarnation of my website, which in the past I have been very slack in updating and now, I hope, I'll have a system that means I'll work on it more often.

I'm the author of six books in Australia, the first four being horror titles through Pan Macmillan called (in order of publication) Ghost Beyond Earth, A Place to Fear, Voices of Evil and The Devil's Numbers. Next came a serial killer book called Missing Pieces, released by Random House. My latest book with Simon and Schuster is titled And In The Morning, and it's an historical war novel set in the Great War that follows the lives of two brothers and a nurse from the Gallipoli campaign right through to Armistice Day in France- which isn't saying they all survive to see that day. You'll have to read the book to find out.

My wife Lisa and I live in a renovated 50 year-old cottageĀ  in the southwest of Western Australia with our three dogs (below) and a small dog kenneling business which means we rarely have less than a bunch of barkers- hence my other "hobby" called Barking Dog Music. It's the perfect place to write books, play very loud music, and not have to suffer any close neighbours. A "rich and famous" author I am not- unfortunately (but I'm working on it- there's nothing like a mortgage to keep you motivated!). Only a few Australian writers can claim to be living full-time off the proceeds of their novels. Instead, I play acoustic guitar and sing solo or in a band called "The Mix", and I write freelance articles for newspapers and magazines, the latter being mainly technical reviews on studio recording software and hardware. I also dabble in writing and producing advertising jingles (hate that term) and, for fun, I've been recording some of my original songs with the dream that maybe they'll be heard one day. I have produced a CD "soundtrack" for And In The Morning which I can sell you, if you send me an email.

This site will hopefully explain about myself, my writing, and give you an insight- for those who might be interested -into a writer's life and how I work. If you'd like to drop me an email, use mail@graemehague.com.au. I try and answer everything except abuse... eventually. I must admit, sometimes a few slip past me. Don't be afraid to try again
